Lynette Hamby New Soquel Board President
The Soquel Union Elementary School District board of trustees elected Lynette Hamby its new president at its annual organizational meeting Dec. 2.

A local accountant, Hamby won her first full elected term in November 2008 after having been appointed to the board the previous year.

Trustee Sandra Wallace was elected vice president. She has served as an officer several times in 11 years on the board.

Hamby replaces outgoing board president Judy McGooden as leader of the five-member board.

The Soquel district has three elementary schools and one middle school serving students in Soquel, Opal Cliffs and Capitola.
