Wells Fargo Gives $24K to Local Schools
Wells Fargo Bank has donated $1,000 each to 24 schools in Santa Cruz County as part of a larger effort to help schools in need.

Local branch managers of Wells Fargo and Wachovia selected the schools and helped Sue Lewis, Wells Fargo Monterey Bay market president, hand out the checks at an Oct. 21 event.

The money will help fund much-needed school supplies and education programs.

The following schools received the grants:

Brook Knoll Elementary School in Scotts Valley
Scotts Valley High School
Scotts Valley Middle School
San Lorenzo Valley Elementary in Felton
Aptos High School
Mar Vista Elementary School in Aptos
Valencia Elementary School in Aptos
New Brighton Middle School in Capitola
Esperanza Middle School in Freedom
Branciforte Middle School in Santa Cruz
Del Mar Elementary School in Live Oak
Gault Elementary School in Santa Cruz
Green Acres Elementary School in Live Oak
Harbor High School in Santa Cruz
Live Oak Elementary School
Santa Cruz High School
Main Street Elementary School in Soquel
Soquel Elementary School
Soquel High School
Alianza Elementary School in Watsonville
Calabasas Elementary School in Watsonville
E.A. Hall Middle School in Watsonville
Landmark Elementary School in Watsonville
Radcliffe Elementary School in Watsonville

Every Wells Fargo and Wachovia bank in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Clara, San Benito, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties selected two local schools to receive $1,000.

Lewis led the effort, which provided more than $500,000 to Bay Area schools.
