New Boulder Creek Business Board Continuing Most Seasonal Events
The new board of directors of the Boulder Creek Business Association is again sponsoring the annual Halloween sidewalk party and Christmas in the Redwoods, although no decision has been made yet about the future of the Boulder Creek Art and Wine Festival.

The Halloween event on Oct. 31 runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., stretching between the Redwood Keg and Rainbow's End in downtown Boulder Creek.

The association will hold a general meeting Nov. 18, and new board president Wayne Williams invites anyone interested to attend. It begins at 6 p.m. at Liberty Bank located at 13233 Highway 9 in Boulder Creek.

The association will also sponsor caroling, a parade with the arrival Santa Claus and annual tree lighting on Nov. 27, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Rainbow's End.

A new slate of directors was recruited this summer.

Joining Williams as new officers are vice president Chris Currier, treasurer Carolyn Sanborn, and secretary Tonya Silvestri. New board members are Bob Locatelli, Terry Vierra, Talal Janbay, Morgan Scarborough and Doug Conrad.

Locatelli owns the San Lorenzo Valley New Leaf stores and Boulder Creek pharmacy. Vierra is also a member of the San Lorenzo Valley Water District board of directors. Scarborough is a member of the Scarborough Lumber family and manager of the Boulder Creek store.

Income from the Art & Wine Festival, traditionally held on Memorial Day Weekend, has helped the business association pay for the holiday events. This year's festival, as with many such events, did not make as much money in years past.

Williams said the association has not made a final decision about the festival's future.
