Plaque Commemorates Lime Works
A dedication of a permanent bronze plaque is to take place at the Cook House just inside UCSC's main entrance at 4 p.m. on Oct. 30 to mark the placement of the Cowell Lime Works Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. The distinction makes it the fourth such district in the county. UCSC Chancellor George Blumenthal; local, state, and national officials; and members of the Friends of the Cowell Lime Works Historic District are slated to attend the unveiling.
